THE KRAININ REPORT

Monthly Sales in 12 Sebago Lake Region Towns

The median in a set of numbers is the number in the middle, when the numbers are arranged in ascending or descending order. If there is an odd quantity of numbers, the median is the middle one. If there is an even quantity of numbers, the median is the average of the two middle ones.

Please be aware that very small sets of data can produce misleading conclusions. For example, if there was 1 sale in Bridgton in June, you can easily see its actual price and actual days on market. But if there were 2, you don't really know what the two prices or days on market were, that got averaged to create the median.

We will be looking for additional, more elucidating ways to present town sales data, and would appreciate any ideas and suggestions you may have.
See Doctor Math for more explanations of statistical terms.
